近日，由郑嘉颖、袁弘、蒋欣主演的电视剧《华胥引》发布了定妆照，从定妆照来看，三位主演一反之前古装剧扮相，屡遭网友吐糟，不是说“郑嘉颖太老了”，就是“蒋欣像东方不败”等。身为男主演的郑嘉颖虽然被批评与原著形象不符、装嫩，但他还是对塑造好苏誉的角色相当有自信。
Official pictures of Hua Xu Ying's characters were released recently and those pictures seems that they are moving away from traditional period drama appearance inviting criticisms from netizens either saying Kevin's too old or Jiang Xing is more like the unassailable etc. As the male lead, although Kevin was criticised as being different from the original character described in the novel, but he still has absolute confidence in his image.
以《步步惊心》蹿红内地的郑嘉颖近年来接拍了不少内地制作的影视剧，其中令观众印象最为深刻的当属《步步惊心》中的八阿哥胤禩。因此当《华胥引》的造型曝光后，很多“八爷党”实在无法接受，只能发出“这还是我们温柔如玉的八爷嘛”的感慨。
Kevin who shot to stardom with Scarlet Heart has acted in many Chinese production with Scarlet Heart leaving the deepest impression as 8th Prince of the Qing Dynasty. Hence when Hua Xu Ying's images were released, a lot of 8th Prince clan members were not able to accept the style and many commented that where is our gentle 8th Prince.
日前，郑嘉颖就《华胥引》造型问题发表了自己的见解：“不太担心，因为现在不买账肯定会有了，比如说我拍“步步”的时候，很多人都说我不像八爷啊或怎么样，但是你看了成品，就没有人说不像了。”就探班粉丝反映，郑嘉颖的现场效果比定妆照好多了。
Kevin released his view on the recent comments: "I'm not worried because there will definitely people who will not be able to accept now just like when I was shooting Scarlet Heart. Many said I didn't look like 8th Prince etc but after you have seen the final production, nobody commented anymore." Fans who have visited the set also commented that Kevin's image "live" is much better than those pictures released.
3月2日起，《步步惊心》续集《步步惊情》在天津开拍，除了刘诗诗、吴奇隆、刘松仁、叶祖新外，目前没有《步步惊心》的其他主演参加续集拍摄。据悉，在《步步惊情》筹拍前，导演李国立称仍需要修改剧本，因此郑嘉颖接拍了《华胥引》，导致由于档期问题缺席《步步惊情》的拍摄，当事人郑嘉颖认为错失此次机会有些遗憾。但记者得到消息称，郑嘉颖已经接到李国立导演的邀请，虽然不能担纲主演与刘诗诗再续前缘，但会在拍完《华胥引》后，奔赴《步步惊情》剧组客串一个角色。届时“步步”迷将有机会一览郑嘉颖的现代扮相.
Starting 2nd March, Scarlet Heart's sequel started shooting in Tianjin. Apart from Cecelia Liu, Nicky Wu, Damian Lau and Ye Zuxing, there are no one else from the original crew who will be part of this sequel. Because the script was being editted hence Kevin accepted Hua Xu Ying causing a clash in schedule when the sequel was finally to be shot. Kevin has said that he's disappointed that he cannot be part of the sequel but we have received news that Director Li has extended his invitation to Kevin to guest star in the show. He will join the crew right after he wraps up Hua Xu Ying.
