改编自超人气网络小说《华胥引》的同名电视剧春节期间在浙江象山开机。这部由李达超执导，郑嘉颖、蒋欣及袁弘等主演的电视剧，自打公布拍摄计划，就一路在书迷的吐槽中打滚，从故事大纲，到演员人选、人物造型，都被网友批得体无完肤。昨日，《华胥引》主创在导演的带领下，顶着“锅盖”现身，接受媒体的微信采访，面对各界种种不看好和残酷质问，导演和演员们几乎拍扁了胸脯，信誓旦旦地保证，这部戏一定“让你好看”，“《华胥引》拍完一定会被热捧，这个我们可以肯定！”
Adapted from popular online novel Hua Xu Ying's namesake TV series started shooting during Chinese New Year in Xiangshan. This show is directed by Li Da Chao and starring Kevin Cheng, Jiang Xing and Yuan Hong etc. Ever since plans to adapt it into a TV series were announced, avid readers have not stopped criticising decisions made in regards from the storyline to cast choices, character styling, all have not been spared.

Extremely popular novel Hua Xu Ying tells the story that takes place in an imaginary world of Jiu Zhou. A princess of a de-funk nation roams the outside world continues with her own life and a love story begins with the person who destroyed her nation. Acfording to relevant survey, fans of this novel are girls aged between 13 - 29. Can a director which is more used to shooting action pack movies able to capture young girls' heart?
Q：导演您是武行出身的汉子，且年近不惑，如何打动女粉丝的心？为何要弃武从文？
Q: Director, you are from martial art background how do you plan to capture female audience's heart? Why did you change genre?
李达超：情是不变的，不管你多少岁，情永远是在的，80多岁都可以谈恋爱、结婚的，所以年龄不是我的障碍之一。我一直都把武戏当文戏来拍，我不觉得自己是弃武从文，把内心世界展现给观众，是我的一个想法。
Director Li: There isn't any change of situation. No matter how old you are, love is always alive. Even an 80-year old can fall in love so age is not an obstacle. I don't think I have switched genre because I have always been filming action movies the way I will a literary film. I am just bringing out the inner world to show the audience.
Q：电视剧的改编程度？预计投资多少？
Q: How much have you adapted? What is the budget?
李达超：我想呈现在观众面前的，是唯美的画面，很累的情，还有玄幻的世界。目前这部戏的投资过一亿了，到底是一亿三千万，还是一亿四千万，还不知道，因为是个无底深潭，钱都花在演员、美术、服装和后面的动画特技了，都砸得不行。我们有一个《甄嬛传》的造型陈敏正大师在主导，而且这些服装质感都是很好的。
Director Li: I would like to present a beautiful scene to the audience, a very tired love story in a fantasy world. At the moment, we have invested over a 100 million into the show. Whether it is 130million or 140million I do not know yet because it is a bottomless pit. Money is spent on actors, creativity, costumes and animation technologies.

李达超：一千个人有一千个哈姆·雷特，我怎么也要毁掉几个人心目中的《华胥引》，但大众心中的《华胥引》是一定存在的。我不敢保证收视率，但我敢保证有漂亮的画面，很好的故事，还有非常靓丽的演员在你们面前呈现，至于收视率有多少呢，我的团队里已经有很多人敢用裸奔去担保了。
Director Li: One thousand fans will have one thousand different version of the story, how can I destroy the image of several people? Hua Xu Ying must exist in their minds. I will not guarantee ratings but I will guarantee a beautiful place and a very good story with beautiful actors presented in front of you. As for ratings, I have people in my crew who will go naked to guarantee that.

Hua Xu Ying's lead, Kevin Cheng can be regarded as a public enemy, heavily criticised by avid reader of the novel. Readers had high hopes of who will be casted as Su Yu who is described as someone elegant and affectionate but Kevin at 43 is considered over-age. A large number of young readers is unable to accept.

郑嘉颖：这次我们造型花了很多天，我从没试过这样的造型，特别那个刘海，初初看也不太习惯，但慢慢看就觉得越来越顺眼了。网友对我造型的评价，正常啊，有好的，有坏的。
Kevin: We spent a lot of time styling. I have not tried such style before especially the bangs. Initially I wasn't used to it but it will grow on you. Netizens' comments on my image, normal. There are the good ones and there are the bad ones.

郑嘉颖：我接这部戏的时先看的剧本，剧本是改编的，没有提过年纪的问题，我觉得很吸引就接了。老实说这个戏我二十多岁时肯定也演不了，现在我是刚好演这个角色。我了解看小说的人，会有他们的想象，你很难跟每个人的想象都一样。我拍《步步惊心》也遇到同样的问题，我希望大家看了成品以后才下结论。其实我平时不看网络小说的，每部戏对我的挑战都一样，就是把它演好。
Kevin: I read the script first when I accepted the job. The script is adapted and never mentioned anything about age. I thought the story was attractive so I accepted it. To be honest, I will never have accepted the role if I was a 20 year old young man. I am at the age where it is just nice to play the role. I understand that readers will form their own image of the character and it is impossible to be exactly what everybody imagines the character to be. I had the same issue when I acted in Scarlet Heart. I hope that people will give me the benefit of the doubt until they have seen the final product. I actually do not read online novels. Every show's challenge is the same - to do my best.
