On the 15th day of the Lunar New Year, Hua Xu Ying cast meet the fans event was held in Xiang Shan TV and Film. Kevin Cheng, Yuan Hong and Jiang Xing spent the last day of Chinese New Year, which also happens to be the Chinese Valentine's Day with fans. Starting work again after Ip Man wrapped up in November and meeting up again with good friend, Yuan Hong, Kevin was obviously in a fab mood.
The happiest thing about accepting this job for Kevin this time is to have the opportunity to work again with his good buddy, Yuan Hong whom he met at the set of Scarlet Heart. In Scarlet Heart, they two men were birth siblings but Yuan Hong (13th Prince) was on the side against 8th Prince (Kevin Cheng). In Hua Xu Ying, Su Yan (Kevin Cheng) and Shen An (Yuan Hong) are buddies who grew up together.
After Scarlet Heart, Kevin Cheng and Kenny Lin became 8th brother and 8th sister-in-law. Yuan Hong was instead "entangled" with Hu Ge insisting that they must be together. Putting both Yuan Hong and Kevin together, Jiang Xing claims that love is everywhere! Kevin says: "The first scene we shot together is a bedroom scene." The reality is, it is a scene where Yuan Hong is lying on the bed injured. Yuan Hong says "I have very heavy emotional love scenes and also brotherhood scenes with Kevin. Put it simply, passionate." This tickled Kevin immensely.
As if not enough, Yuan Hong revealed that Kevin is afraid of the cold. He puts on at least 3 layers of T-shirts underneath his costume, "Layer by layer, every piece is very thin. A lot of layers. One collar here and the other collar there." Kevin said jokingly: "Why are you paying attention to me?"
Apart from Yuan Hong, 8th Prince camp's 9th Prince is also shooting in Hengdian. The excitement when all these men met up again is unbelievable. No wonder Kevin was in extremely good mood - he laughs out loudly at the slightest provocation. Kevin is well known for his loud laughters.
Jiang Xing is the girlfriend of 10th Prince of Scarlet Heart. When Kevin was shooting Scarlet Heart in Hengdian, Jiang Xing was also there shooting another show. During that time, Kevin was introduced to her by 10th Prince but Kevin's memory is obviously lacking. He joined the crew later than Yuan Hong and Jiang Xing,. The other two have already started shooting their scenes when he was only in to fix his look for the role. Without any scenes lined up, he was free enough to want to visit Yuan Hong at the set. Arriving there, after giving Yuan Hong a big hug, Yuan Hong went straight back to work. After when they met again, Kevin kept staring at the actress standing next to Yuan Hong, making her uncomfortable but that didn't stop Kevin from continuing to stare at her. The girl finally stared back at him and when their gaze met, Kevin smiled saying: "I have met you before." Kevin continued "Don't you remember?" Yuan Hong pulled him aside immediately and said: "Bro, the person you met the other day is not her."
