民国功夫大戏《叶问》正在昆山紧锣密鼓的拍摄中。郑嘉颖饰演的一代宗师叶问，之前一直屡遭质疑其武打戏能否过关，但在两个多月的拍摄期间内，他的功夫可谓是突飞猛进。就连郑嘉颖戏里的对手，著名武打演员徐向东（饰演蒋盛）也忍不住连连称好。
Ip Man is into its final stages of shooting in Kunshan. Kevin Cheng who plays Ip Man, was very skeptical previously if he will be able to pass with flying colours in this martial art heavy drama. But within a short 2 months of shooting, his skills improved tremendously. Even his opponents who are martial arts experts are full of praises.
日前记者探班，着实领略到《叶问》剧组打戏的戏份之重。从早上8点半郑嘉颖开工，一直到晚上7点，所有戏份全部在“广州武术擂台”上拍摄，这是叶问在初上广州时的重头大戏，一连10几个小时不间断打戏，严重考验着郑嘉颖的体力和耐力。
When our reporter was visiting the set, they finally had a first hand experience the amount of fight scenes KC has to shoot per day. From 8.30am Kevin will begin shooting all the way till 7pm in the evening. All the scenes are shot on the ring, for more than 10 hours non-stop fighting. It is a serious test of physical and emotional strength.
片场，刚和郑嘉颖打完，在台下休息的徐向东表示，即使在这种超负荷的情况下，郑嘉颖的感觉依旧很好，精准完成每个套招动作，很稳定，没有一丝走样。徐向东是圈内的武术名家和武术学者，当年曾主演徐小明导演的《木棉袈裟》而家喻户晓。
Xu Xiangdong, an expert, commented that even in such situation where he is overloaded with fight scenes everyday, Kevin still maintains his composure, shooting each scene with precision.
在擂台上，郑嘉颖和徐向东二人每次打完，都会互相竖起大拇指示意，流露出难以言表的情绪。徐向东表示，今天拍摄的许多戏，并不是为了单纯表现武术动作的精巧，更重要的是要表现打斗背后的深层含义，比如他和叶问之间惺惺相惜的情感交流。这种交流，体现在每一个眼神和每一个动作上，心领神会，双方搭戏很舒服顺畅，竖起大拇指是沟通，更是发自内心的赞叹。
On the ring, everytime Kevin and Xu Xiangdong finish their fight scene, they will always give each other the thumbs up as encouragement, showing an indescribable emotion. Xu Xiangdong says the fight scenes that they have to go through everyday is not just about showing the beauty of martial arts but more importantly to show the deeper emotions behind each fight. For example, the sympathetic emotional exchange between him and Ip Man. Such exchanges are reflected in every look and movement. Both parties are obviously very comfortable with each other and the flow is very smooth. Giving the thumbs-up is just a simple way of communicating and more importantly, heartfelt praise for each other.
郑嘉颖毕竟不是武打科班出身，但他的敬业和努力，在《叶问》剧组里一直是众人皆知的。徐向东表示，郑嘉颖从不胡来，每个招式表现得准确无误，而且他肯研读剧本、理解人物，所以不是简简单单的打，他还能把打的背后的戏挖掘出来。能得到行家如此高的评价，看来郑嘉颖所诠释的这个“叶问”，非同一般了
Kevin is, after all, not a martial art practitioner but his dedication to his job and the efforts that he puts in is well recognised among the crew. Xu Xiangdong said that Kevin never messes around or take things lightly. Every move has to be accurate and he is willing to study the script, understand the character he is playing and study how he should portray that character. Being praised by such an old timer, looks like Kevin's version Ip Man is going to be interesting.
