While shooting Ip Man, a punch caused a pretty bad injury to Kevin's right eye - it resulted in quite a long split to the corner of his eye. He took the first flight out to Hong Kong to seek treatment. He was seen walking out of the immigration at 11.15pm to a group of waiting media.
His expression was sombre when he walked out from the immigration. When asked what happened, Kevin replied "Small issue. I might need 2 stitches that's about it. The first thing I need to do now is to go to the hospital and get this treated" Kevin says he was hurt by his opponent during shooting - that person is a newbie in the filming industry but is a martial art expert and Kevin himself didn't manage to dodge his punch in time ended up injuring the area near the eye bags.
Asked if this will effect his vision, Kevin says "This is a really small issue. But I will be resting for awhile. I won't be able to return to the set at this moment and the event which I was suppose to go tomorrow will have to be cancelled."
