正身處距上海市一個鐘車程的崑山，拍內地劇《葉問》的鄭嘉穎，拍劇價已經暴升到三十萬一集，一劇袋千萬，令他坐正今年無綫最賺錢藝人。財多身弱，本身患有遺傳高血壓的鄭嘉穎，長期要食血壓藥，今次演出葉問一角，由於有不少動作場面，加上零武功底，打起來更是百上加斤。
Kevin who is hard at work filming Ip Man in Kunshan, a city which is an hour's drive from Shanghai, asking price per episode has risen to RMB300,000 which means he is looking at more than RMB10million per drama, securing him as TVB's money power house this year. As this show involves a lot of action scenes, it takes additional effort for someone who has zero martial art background to film. To top that, Kevin himself suffers from genetic hypertension which means he is on long-term medication to keep his blood pressure under control is an added burden.

「鄭嘉穎唔同宇宙最好打甄子丹，就算有替身，仲有好多要自己嚟嘅鏡頭，仲要打到似模似樣，真係唔易。喺崑山拍咗幾日戲，嘉穎已經同朋友講話場場戲都要打，嗰度氣溫高達三十八度，又熱又焗，日日開○七，真係得番半條人命，每日收工攰到爆，連電話都唔願傾。」鄭嘉穎的友人說。
Kevin is nothing like Donnie Yen who is a recognised martial artiste, even with substitute/doubles, there are still a lot of fight scenes which require Kevin to do it himself and to look real adding to the difficulty. Only after days of shooting, Kevin has already mentioned to friends that he is required to fight in almost every scene in 38 degrees Celcius temperature. He's so tired everyday that he doesn't even have the mood to speak on the phone to anyone.
At RMB300,000 per episode Kevin is actually looking at a 30 times pay increment compared to TVB. Although he knows that to play Ip Man, there will be a lot of fight scenes, Kevin still decided to go ahead with it.
「除咗錢吸引，套劇嘅製作亦好大，唔少大牌都爭做呢個角色，投資方最終揀咗自己，嘉穎都想拍到部代表作，可以喺內地再行多步！」

A friend said "Apart from the attractive salary, this is also a huge production where many big names were eyeing the lead role. In the end, producers chose him and Kevin also wishes to have a representation work to open up even more doors in Mainland China."
Middle-aged Kevin suffers from genetic hypertension and is required to be on long term medication to keep his blood pressure under control, plus having to cope with filming fight scenes in the hot summer is double hard work.
Kevin's friend reveals "Kevin keeps his blood pressure under check and watches his diet. In fact, his mom is also very worried that he will fall ill if he continues working this way."
They moved the shooting indoors for the afternoon while the fighting scenes were left till the night. In between, Kevin had a fight scene with one of the actors. 3 fight moves and after 4 NGs, he still couldn't meet the requirements of the martial arts instructor. The instructor did a demonstration as how those moved should be done himself, and even then the director only called it a day after a further 3 NGs.

We (the publishing company) went to the scene and found that Kevin had to repetively shoot one particular fight scene because the martial art master was not pleased with the result. He kept re-doing the same scene for 1 hour! Kevin was sweating profusely in the heat while his assistant repeatedly wipe the sweat away. This is definitely no easy money as Kevin complains to people close to him - he has to fight night and day!

雖然在無綫劇價唔算高，《步步驚心》後，鄭嘉穎在內地拍劇有價有市，一年已賺過三千萬，力壓今年賺 1075萬的陳豪及 829萬的林峯。
Although Kevin's pay is not considered high in TVB but after Scarlett Heart, Kevin's market price in Mainland China rose considerably earning RMB30million in a year beating Moses Chan (RMB10million) and Raymond Lam (RMB8.29million) - see charts below.
