Tencent 2 Dec 2013: Kevin complies with fans' requests at Chengdu signing session

“八爷”郑嘉颖携全新专辑《说来话长》空降成都奥克斯广场举行签唱会。现场，郑嘉颖不仅演唱了新专辑的主打曲，更在为歌迷签名时大显亲民本色，挨个与歌迷合影握手，甚至连歌迷的“熊抱”也全盘接收，来者不拒。

Kevin was in Chengdu yesterday for album signing session. Not only did he sing the first single from the album, he also tried his best to comply to his fans' wishes at the event - taking pictures with his fans, shaking their hands and even allowing fans to hug him! 

郑嘉颖成都签唱会从当天下午三点举行，而现场有歌迷表示自己从早上10点便开始排队候场，甚至有女歌迷带着几岁的儿子前来为郑嘉颖捧场，“八爷”的人气可见一斑。

The event started at 3:00pm and fans have been waiting since 10:00am in the morning to enter the venue. There are even fans who brought their kids along to support Kevin. Kevin's attractiveness is obvious.

说起“歌手”郑嘉颖，那真是“说来话长”，作为戴思聪的学生，他于1993年签约宝丽金出道，后因与经理人戴思聪意见不合，重心转移到台湾，发表《全因身边有你》等作品后事业一度停滞。回忆最早在歌坛的时光，郑嘉颖说那时候没有事业基础，也没有经济基础，发展几经起伏，虽然也唱过不少歌曲，但并不像剧集的“Law霸”和“八爷”一样有代表作，“时隔这么多年之后再出《说来话长》，就是想大家以后说起歌手郑嘉颖，能想起我唱的歌。”

Speaking of being a singer, Kevin started out in 1993 and was signed to then PolyGram as Dai SiCong's prodigy. But due to a disagreement with Dai SiCong who was also his manager, he was sent to Taiwan to concentrate in expanding his career there. His career practically came to a halt in Taiwan. Looking back, Kevin says he wasn't secure career and financial wise. He went through lots of ups and downs. Although he has sung quite a number of songs but there isn't one that represents him like Law Ba or 8th Prince. "After so many years, I am releasing Long Story in hope that when people speak about Kevin Cheng the singer, they can link me straight to my songs."
