从《怒火街头》争名夺利的Law霸，到《步步惊心》温润如玉的八爷，再到《叶问》痴情的一代宗师，郑嘉颖已从TVB“三料视帝”，发展成为内地最抢手“过江龙”。不过近几年在内地开拓事业版图的他，昨日接受采访时表示，其实自己也很渴望结婚，各方面都准备好了，“就等那个人出现了”。
From Law Ba in Ghetto Justice to 8th Prince in Scarlet Heart then to being the Grandmaster in Ip Man, Kevin Cheng has risen from just being a 3 time Best Actor of TVB to become Mainland China's most sought after actor from Hong Kong. Kevin who has been focusing in Mainland this couple of years indicated during the interview yesterday that he is in fact very eager to get married. He's ready and is just waiting for that person to appear.

“我演叶问不靠拳脚取胜”
由郑嘉颖主演的电视剧《叶问》正在广东珠江频道播出，比起甄子丹硬桥硬马的真功夫，电视剧《叶问》尽管也集合了各地武术的精彩较量，但零武术功底的郑嘉颖演武打戏仍让不少观众觉得华而不实，不够震撼。郑嘉颖解释：“我演叶问不可能靠拳脚取胜。”
Kevin Cheng's version of Ip Man is currently airing in Guangdong. Compared to Donnie Yen's real deal, TV series Ip Man has also included various exciting sparring between actors. Even then, many audience have commented that Kevin's fight scenes are not exciting enough noting the fact that Kevin has zero martial art background. Kevin explains: "I cannot win by just relying on my fist."
信息时报：在甄子丹版、梁朝伟版、黄秋生版的叶问深入人心之后，为什么“八爷”你还愿意冒险接演这个角色？
IT: The audiences have publicly accepted Donnie Yan, Tony Leung and Anthony Wong's versions of Ip Man. Why would you still take the risk to take on this character?
郑嘉颖：很感激观众喜欢我演的“八爷”，但对我来说，这个角色已经过去了，他再好，也得忘掉。艺人都不希望一辈子只让观众记住你一个角色。我是个爱挑战的人，能演叶问是我的荣幸和骄傲。我希望观众以后提到我会说，郑嘉颖除了“八爷”外，叶问也演得不错。
KC: I really thank the audience for liking my portrayal of 8th prince but to me, this character is a past tense. No matter how good he was, forget him. A actor will not want to be remembered only by 1 role. I love challenges. It is my pride and honour to be able to play Ip Man. I hope people will say Kevin didn't only performed well as 8th Prince but he was good as Ip Man too.
信息时报：很多观众觉得武功底子是你演叶问的硬伤。
IT: Everybody thinks that your disadvantage is that you have zero martial art background.
郑嘉颖：我没有武术功底，只能现学现练，我特意买了一个木人桩，每天收工后，就对着木人桩练习。这部剧我的打戏有200多场，真的很累，韩雪奇怪我话好少，其实我是累得不想说话。演完这部戏后，我对动作戏有了很大的信心，对咏春也产生了兴趣，现在没事的时候，自己还比划几下。
KC: I have never learnt martial arts so I had to try to master it on the spot and for that purpose, I placed a wooden dummy in my room to practice on everyday after work. I had more than 200 fight scenes, really tiring. Han Xue didn't understand why I wasn't talking much. I was too tired to even speak. After finishing the show, I am more confident now to take on action movies and have also developed an interest for Wing Chun.
信息时报：观众觉得戏中常常上演“以一敌十”的打戏太夸张，不真实，你怎么看？
IT: The audience thinks that the fight scenes are very much exaggerated. What do you think?
郑嘉颖：坦白说，叶问是我最没把握的一个角色。跟甄子丹老师相比，我演的叶问不可能靠拳脚取胜，剧中的打戏很好看，那多是武术指导老师的功劳，我是尽我最大努力演好武戏。其实，武林高手以一敌多的情况在影视剧里很常见，这只是表现手法，可以有一些夸张。在我看来，打得怎么样并不重要，重要的是这部戏并不是在渲染血流成河的暴力场面，而是更加注重内在东西的表达。
KC: To be honest, I have no confident at all to do well playing this role. I will not be able to win the audience by relying on my fist alone unlike Donnie Yen. All the exciting fight scenes you see in the show is all thanks to the martial art instructors. I only did my best to portray them. In my opinion, the most important element is this is now a show only about violence, but focus on a lot more emotional story.
谈感情
“我其实很渴望找到另一半”
在以往电影中，叶问和张永成的感情一直坚不可摧，就算电影《一代宗师》，宫二也未能插足成功。然而电视剧中，郑嘉颖饰演的叶问却陷入了一场三角恋。韩雪饰演的张永成对叶问情比金坚，但叶问仍与周秀娜饰演的“码头西施”珍妮街头拥吻。郑嘉颖认为这只是插曲。反观自己的感情，43岁的他表示自己也非常渴望找到另一半。
None of the movie versions of Ip Man was able to bring out the relationship between Ip Man and Zhang Yong Cheng, not even in the movie The Grandmaster. But in the TV series, Kevin's Ip Man was caught in a love triangle. Kevin commented that this is just the side dish. Looking at his own love life, Kevin says he is really hoping to find his other half.
信息时报：叶问第一次在影视作品中陷入三角恋，你怎么看叶问和珍妮的感情戏？
IT: This is the first time Ip Man is portrayed to be caught in a love triangle. What do you think of Ip Man's relationship with Jenny?
郑嘉颖：叶问到香港后的一段时间，被珍妮执着追求。好男人女人都会喜欢。所以严格地说这不是三角恋，毕竟他管不了别人对他的感情，叶问最爱的女人还是张永成。珍妮的出现只是小插曲，她对叶问的感情是少女对偶像的倾慕，不是真爱。而叶问和张永成是经历风风雨雨的夫妻，他们的乱世纯爱是爱情的典范。
KC: Jenny was hot on Ip Man's heels after he arrived in Hong Kong. Women will never fall for good boys. Strictly speaking, this is not a love triangle because he doesn't care how others feel for him. Ip Man is very clear that the woman he loves is Zhang Yongcheng. Jenny is just a passer-by in his life and what she has for Ip Man is what girls feel for their idol, not true love. Ip Man and Zhang Yongcheng is a couple who experienced ups and downs together. Their love is the perfect example of true love.
信息时报：戏里张永成主动向叶问告白。生活中，你是否喜欢这样的女生？
IT: In the show, Zhang Yongcheng took the initiative to express her feelings for Ip Man. In real life, can you accept such girls?
郑嘉颖：没问题啊，随缘最重要。其实我觉得两个人在一起，性格合得来，可以当朋友，开心不开心都可以一起讨论，这样最好。现在毕竟年纪也不小了，以前我妈会催婚，后来我忙拍戏，也没那心思，她也不催我了，但我其实还是很渴望找到另一半，成个家。坦白说，我现在差不多都准备好了，就等那个人出现了。
KC: It's not a problem at all, it's all up to fate. I think for 2 people to be together, character must be compatible, they are each other's best friend. They can share anything and everything, the good and the bad with each other. This is the best. I'm no longer young. In the past my mum will nag at me asking me about my marriage. Then my acting career took off so was very busy working and she stopped asking. But actually I am really eager to find my other half and start my own family. To be honest, I'm all ready, just waiting for that person to appear.
信息时报：可现在大叔很吃香，很多女孩都有大叔控。有网友就称你是“暖心大叔”。
IT: But you are extremely popular uncle now.
郑嘉颖：这是说我年纪大么？(笑)男人在不同阶段的确会有不同的展现。可能年纪越大，男人会更成熟，内心的沉淀会更多，就像叶问一样。对我来说，随着年龄的增长，学到更多东西是最重要的。我不会刻意去迎合别人的喜好，我相信只要把自己做好了，喜欢你的人自然还会喜欢你。
KC: Are you trying to say I'm old? *Laughs* Men portrays themselves differently at different stages of their lives. Maybe men becomes more mature as they age. I learn and experience more as I got older. I will not try to get into someone's good books on purpose. I believe if I do well in what I'm supposed to do, people will like you for who you are.

“内地是我的福地，向吴奇隆学习做制片”
2011年是郑嘉颖大丰收的一年，在内地凭借《步步惊心》积攒口碑，在香港拿下三料视帝。走红后，郑嘉颖选择全力进军内地，去年称要在内地开设工作室，他表示以后会尝试当制作人。
2011 was a fruitful year for Kevin. After rising to stardom, Kevin chose to shift his focus to Mainland China and announced that he will be starting his own production company in China.
信息时报：你这两年每年的产量都达到四五部作品，几乎都不回香港拍剧了，是不是有点太拼了？还是内地太好赚了？
IT: Your average production is 4-5 shows a year practically spending all your time in China. Are you working a little too hard? Or is the money too good to resist in China?
郑嘉颖：演员嘛，看到好剧本、好角色就舍不得放下了。在内地拍戏多，一方面是片约多了，更重要的是这边的好对手吸引了我。虽然TVB也有很多好演员，但合作过很多次了，彼此太熟就很难再碰出新的火花。
KC: When I see a good script, a good role, it is really difficult for me to say no. Apart from the fact that I have more offers in China, the main reason for me staying in China is because of the actors whom I can spar with. Don't get me wrong, TVB has a lot of good actors as well but I have worked with almost all of them many times. When you know your opponent too well, it is very hard to have any new sparks.
信息时报：去年你说要在内地开设工作室，是不是下一步要开始当制作人了？
IT: You mentioned that you will be opening your own studio this year. Are you aiming to become a producer next?
郑嘉颖：有更好的提升当然好，能尝试就应该努力去尝试。可制片的要求很高，也不是所有演员都能胜任。我一直有做幕后的想法，但这些想法还是一步一步慢慢来，目前我还是以演戏为主，先学习吧。吴奇隆现在不是已经做制片拍自己的戏了嘛，我会去找他聊聊，向他取经。
KC: Definitely looking at moving up to the next phase in life. If I have the opportunity to try something new, I will definitely grab it but producing a show is not easy. It is not something every actor can become. I have always wanted to move behind the scenes but I have to take it one step at a time and not rush it. I'm learning. Nicky Wu has already started to produce his own shows. I will need to have a little chat with him to learn from him.
信息时报：《步步惊心》帮你打开内地市场，但是之后你接下的作品，角色都似乎未能超越“八爷”啊？
IT: Scarlet Heart opened the Chinese market for you but seems that none of the roles you picked after that surpassed 8th Prince?
郑嘉颖：对我而言，内地是我的福地，一个香港演员，刚进入内地，就能碰到这样的制作和剧本，真的很幸运。至于红不红，其实演员很被动。红了是运气，不红也没关系，还是要坚持，要等待。演员就是一直在等待的职业，等灯光、等道具、等剧本、等角色，我等了19年才等到这样一个机会。
KC: To me, China is my lucky place. For an actor from Hong Kong to move to China and landing with such a good script, it's pure luck. For an actor, when you become famous, you are lucky but if you are not then it's still OK. You will still need to hang on and wait. An actor has to have the patience to wait. I have waited 19 years before I got my chance.
